Rusty Lantern

Oh how I enjoy Flying Unicorn’s OTP (Off the Page) projects. I new I wanted to rust the heck out of this. I was busy working my long stretch so I needed to do something fun, no stress, and something I could do it stages ( and I could do tired). This was perfect.

I usually do a pictorial on my creative process but because of my real job, I just didn’t take the pictures.

I acutulaly used some Moulds on here and added minor details through out.

I used a 1 foot lumie and rolled it up for the light effect on the inside. I needed to rust effect the inside of the candle tray seeing the three dimensions you could really see the inside when lit up.

I used some old beads, some paper blooms and some mechanicals from the sunrise sunset line.

A bit more detail on the top of the project.

I adhered everything with heavy Gel and painted it all black with gesso. Then Layer after layer of Rust Pastes the effect was perfect.

I have a feeling I will be seeing a lot more rust in my future. I love the effect! Thanks for enjoying it too!
