Momma’s Boy

As mother’s day fast approaches,  I am drawn to scrap those precious child photos. This photo is one of my neighbor’s little boy and her brother. Such an innocent looking photo and perfectly captured. Petaloo Mothers Day

I recently had a girls weekend getaway and had a small stash of supplies with me to use, so minimal is sometimes better, this masculine layout was perfect for simple. Subtle background details with stamping and some texture. IMG_4214

Masculine layouts and flowers are such a hard concept sometimes but these neutral tea-stained Dahlias work great with a little oxide inks splattered on them.

IMG_4215

A few extra details with some metal embellishments and chippies and the perfect masculine layout captured.

IMG_4216

I hope all you mothers, grandmothers, fur momma’s and all have a great day. Thank you for stopping by.

Some Of My Favorite Things

Hello all, I am here today wanting to share a few of my favorite things. Whether its a cold winters day or a brisk summers night sitting by the camp fire. You can never go wrong with a nice cup of hot chocolate. And top it off with a  little shot of Rum Chata and  some smooth Norwegian chocolate and its just heavenly.

My Favorite Things

And of course the new paper line from 7 Dots Studios is heavenly also, an new favorite for me too.

Here is a video to watch the creative process.

I am loving Chevron and the Distressed Chevron stamp works so perfect for some background details. Along with some Burlap Stamping, I cant get enough details in the background. Sometime I get carried away with the overall composition and don’t make enough background details like I did with my stencil work using the Circle Boken Stencil.

So adding a few of my favorite things like the Bubbles Panel to the layering (which I cant have enough layering), adds to the look of the layout.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy a few of you own favorite things everyday.

Music to My Ears

CE May Challenge

Hi, Heather here today to share my take on the inspirational picture, I know exactly what I wanted to do, I took some pictures of the inside of my piano and decided to use them as the focal point of my layout.

I started out with some background work with the Fishnet Stencil and some ink. Then added some subtle stamping with the Burlap Stamp. After the subtle background stamping was done I wanted to add some texture with the Ropes stencil and some texture paste.

I used some stamping of a butterfly image in the background but I do get carried away sometimes when I get creating. I used the Flourish Set and painted it and then added more stamping right on the chip board with the Distressed Screen Stamp and again the Burlap Stamp.

I added some music notes with the Music to my Ears Stencil which worked perfectly for this page and inspirational picture.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you join in on the challenge at Creative Embellishments

That’s Crafty Collaboration

that's crafty

What an amazing week it has been with so much creativitiy and such unique projects. So now it’s my turn to showcase my piece.

I absolutly love the Visage set but never had the nerve to try and put something together. So when I got my Acrylic Wall Hanging from That’s Craft the creativity was just flowing. I loved how they teired down so why not keep in suit.

img_3273

I used some alcohol inks on the substrate until I got the desired marble effect, something well aged and vintage. Using the Dresing Trim Silver Rosette to higlight the focal points  reminded me of something from Roman times with the “crowns of Laurel”.

img_3277

During Roman times the Crowns were made with leaves of the bay laurel, and were worn as signs of victory and triumph. The Faces of the Visage are so masculine, with the crackle aged look it adds to that feeling of Roman Times.

img_3280

The crisp background of Muslin and texture reminise the typical tunics and calceus (open toed sandles) on the back drop of aged marble.

img_3281

As I look at this peice I  am reminded of lost roman treasures around the town of Cosenza in southern Italy that have been overlooked by time.

Fun together

Hello all, here today to share a fun mixed media layout from the crazy fun time I had at Creativeations in Phoenix. (formally known as CHA) And if you every have the chance to hang out with Tracy and Andy, its is always fun.

IMG_3723

I loved the process this layout went through, I hope you do too, enjoy the video.

I starting with tons of stamping on the background and lots of texture. Between using the Half Tone Circle Stamp and the Distressed Text Stamp, stencils and texture paste. I get a lovely detailed background.

IMG_3727

I used some paint and detailed the Circle Doodle Frame and layered it over the Square Doodle Frame.

IMG_3726

After the layering process begins, I start to add the little elements that help for the piece. The grudge arrows are so fun to work with.

IMG_3725

And I cant forget the title. “Fun Together” There is never a time that I don’t have fun together with Andy and Tracy. Great memories we always make.

IMG_3724

And those fun times make me smile. To look back at the time we had just makes life sweet.  Thank you for stopping by today! Enjoy all the fun times together.

Mixed Media Vintage Layout

I want to share a fun mixed media layout with you today, tons of details here. I totally loved the process this layout went through. This is a picture of Olivia and my Late Grandfathers 1934 Hudson at his funeral this last fall. It was a beautiful send off. One last ride.

Rustic Layout .jpg

I loved the vintage look of the old car, the shadows from the sun, and just old school.  So I wanted to incorporate all of those in the layout.

Enjoy the close-ups.

IMG_3755

As in the video. I added so much texture and details to the Brick Wall Chipboards. I also wanted to cover up the funeral home sign so I knew I had to place one strategically on the picture itself.

IMG_3758

Using the Brick Stencil and texture paste,  I pulled more bricks out of the background paper.

IMG_3756

I used added so much details to the background, using layers of crackle paste, I also added a mould, and added more crackle, all to age the look of the layout.

IMG_3759

I love the look of this layout and it is so vintage. I hope you enjoyed the video process. Thank you for stopping by today.

Spring Tag and Card

Hello today, I hope to finally say that Spring is here. Although weather in central US can be surprising. I was inspired to make a Spring tag and card set.

IMG_3933.JPG

I made a little video to share my creative process.

After a fair number of layers of the beautiful Botanical Tea Collection I touched the card and tag off with some Textured Elements. The Rosettes are perfectly matched with this paper collection.

Soft subtle distressed edges offsets the pretty details of the paper, and the soft texture of the rosettes add beauty to the set.

Shabby Chic Wedding

Shabby Chic Wedding Layout

Just a quick share today, I have been so busy trying to get ahead on things. And seeing spring is here, the gardens are calling my name. I just wanted to create something for me….kinda.

Shabby Wedding LemonCraft.jpg

I borrowed this picture from Laura, a sweet gal I work with, (not the first one I have borrowed  wink wink). She recently got married and the pictures are just so gorgeous. I wanted to scrap a little shabby chic.

IMG_4079

I made a video tutorial along with it.

Insert Video Here.

I think out of all the different styles out there, Shabby Chic is the hardest for me, So I am always looking for something gorgeous to create.

IMG_4075

This layout works perfectly for LemonCraft’s Challenge this Month. All about Roses. Between the beautiful roses in the bouquet, the paper roses in the flower clusters to the scrumptious paper. Perfect.
